Seriously! The buzz among all my friends, colleagues and family is "where's the snow!?" Its been unseasonably warm here with our first cold days just arriving, but no snow! :-( Even if doesn't snow, its just not right to see folks walking around without scarves and coats and boots! Some are still wearing flip flops! We all continue to prepare and decorate for the holidays with the anticipation that winter weather will arrive soon! This is when I'm singing ardently and with hope, from my heart "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas", or "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow", or "Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas"......... I'm sure you could think of many more! I suppose the traditions are a little different in more tropical places, but for me, the white wintry weather is what makes it "feel" more like Christmas! I know its silly when the weather has nothing to do with Christmas, or the meaning of Christmas, but its all part of the package this time of year, and the snow and cold lend itself to the celebration, gathering in a warm spot with friends and hot drinks, good food, desserts, watching Christmas movies, etc! Then there's bundling up, and going for walks in the snow, Christmas caroling and the list goes on!
In writing this though, we truly make Christmas what we want and what it means to us regardless of whether the "weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful...." Oui?
Mon chien, Mia, wants to chime in too, with one last plea......
"S'il vous plait! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!
